Of those diagnosed on Wednesday, 90 were from foreign countries and 71 were from other states. 706 people were infected through contact. The contact source of 35 of them is not clear. 198 in Thiruvananthapuram district, 77 in Kollam district, 60 in Kozhikode district, 58 in Ernakulam district, 52 in Malappuram district, 43 in Wayanad district, 39 in Pathanamthitta district, 33 in Alappuzha district, 32 in Kasaragod district and 27 in Kottayam district. The disease affected 25 people in Idukki district, 22 each in Thrissur and Kannur districts and 18 in Palakkad district.
All 30 health workers were affected by the disease. The disease was confirmed in 10 cases each in Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur districts, 6 each in Ernakulam district and 1 each in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode and Kasaragod districts.

The results of 30 persons from Kottayam district, 28 persons from Kottayam district, 20 persons from Idukki district, 19 persons from Palakkad district, 9 persons from Wayanad district and 3 persons from Kannur district were negative on Wednesday. With this, 10,350 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,369 people have so far been freed from Kovid.
There are currently 1,47,132 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of those under observation, 1,37,075 are under home / institutional quarantine and 10,057 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 1,475 people were hospitalized on Wednesday.
23,924 samples were tested in 24 hours. A total of 7,33,413 samples have so far been sent for testing, including routine samples, Airport Surveillance, Pooled Sentinel, CBNAT, Trunat, CLIA and Antigen Assay.
